I have encountered a number of people as of late, who are experiencing a severe crisis in faith. Their crisis revolves around what they have long embraced as true, or what they were told was immutable. Much of what is causing their crisis is the reality that what they believe to be true does not line up with newly discovered information that shines a different light and understanding on their personal faith. What adds to the problem is, the glaring reality that what they believe to be true, is not really working that well, therefore making it a hard pill to swallow. It has become intellectually dishonest and culturally unpopular in the day of enlightenment, and is therefore considered unacceptable or draconian in many circles. In one way or the other, we all need to question and rethink some of the things that we once embraced as absolute truth.
We are entering into a time when all that we have known and understood will be challenged by newly discovered truth, and that truth will be verified by remarkable facts and irrefutable experience. In order to navigate through the days ahead, we will need to know what we believe and why we believe it.
Many of us know what we have known, and some of it is not contributing to the forward advancement of the Kingdom of Yahweh. As a matter of fact, we are back to square one as it pertains to embracing change that will ultimately make a lasting difference in our lifetimes.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. ESV
John 7:17-18 If any man desires to do His will (God’s pleasure), he will know (have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself) whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from Myself and of My own accord and on My own authority. He who speaks on his own authority seeks to win honor for himself. [He whose teaching originates with himself seeks his own glory.] But He Who seeks the glory and is eager for the honor of Him Who sent Him, He is true; and there is no unrighteousness or falsehood or deception in Him. 1 Timothy 4: 1-5 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. ESV
2 Timothy 3:1-9 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men. ESV
Note: I have come to believe that every generation since the coming of the Kingdom have experienced both last days and the consummation of all things. I am NOT referencing the above passage of scripture to locate where we are in the prophetic time table of Yahweh. However, I am referencing it to remind us of what has been and is, will be coming to this generation. For some, the last days has, is and will come. For others the consummation of all things has, is and will come them in our lifetimes.
1 Peter 3:15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, ESV
Discussion # 1 – Concerning His plan of Salvation
Question: What does the scripture teach concerning the plan of salvation?
Acts 4:12 – “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Romans 1:16-17 -For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Ephesians 1:11-14 – In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Titus 2:11-14 – For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Hebrews 2:1-5 – Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.
Note: I believe that Yahweh’s salvation is a full and comprehensive plan that includes salvation, healing and deliverance.
Question # 1- If healing and deliverance represent two thirds part of the plan of salvation, then why have we softened our position as it pertains to teaching and living in a way speaks of this benefit?
Note: I believe that Divine Healing, Divine Health and Divine Living are a very important part of our life witness and testimony. That being said, many of us are still sick and dying from the same debilitating diseases that plague those who are operating under the curse and consequence of breaking the Law of Yahweh.
Note: I am not speaking to this because I am trying to heap guilt and condemnation on anybody and it is not my intent to overthrow the faith of the weak, but we must settled in our heart what we truly believe about these facts, and reconcile what we believe with TRUTH!
Question: If Divine Healing and Deliverance are NOT a part of the full and comprehensive plan of salvation, then how can we be truly assured of our salvation based on what we presently believe to be true about the coverage?
