The Place of the Press

GETHSEMANE – Hb. Gath – wine-press /  Shemen – fat, oil

In the Eternal Now there are no times and seasons, eras or epochs. However, we all may very well experience whatever is happening very differently. Case in point, the past decade has been about stripping, gutting and crushing for most of us. Some of us are responding to the process as mature sons, while others of us are still reacting out of the orphan of our souls.

The truth is, some of us were vine-ripened before going through the process of stripping, gutting and crushing, and we experienced what is known in the wine making business as free-run-juicing. It is accomplished by crushing the grapes after the have been separated from the vine, the cluster, the stem and the outer skin. We are NOW being gathered together and thrown into the wine-press for a whole cluster extraction. We all will be going into the wine-press at the same time and while we will be going through it together, we will not be destroyed. This is not our last days or end times. This is our opportunity to become the New Wine to those who are ready to taste and see that the Sovereign is good. Yahshua’s first miracle was turning the water into wine. His last miracle could be similar in that we are being pressed together to become new wine-skins capable of containing the new wine. He truly has saved the best for last.

Isaiah 65:8-25 ISV

A Remnant will be Preserved

This is what the LORD says:
“Just as new wine is found in the cluster, and people have said, ‘Don’t destroy it, for there is a gift in it,’so I’ll act for my servants’ sake, by not destroying them all. I’ll bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah they will inherit my mountains; my chosen people will inherit it, and my servants will live there. Sharon will become a pasture for flocks, and the Valley of Achor a fold for herds, for my people who have sought me. But as for you who forsake the LORD, who forget my holy mountain, who spread a table for Fortune and fill drink offerings for Destiny, I’ll consign you to the sword, and all of you will bend down for the slaughter—because when I called, you didn’t answer, when I spoke, you didn’t listen; but you did what was evil in my sight, and chose what I took no pleasure in.”

The Righteous and Wicked Contrasted

Therefore, this is what the LORD says:
“See, my servants will eat, but you’ll go hungry; my servants will drink, but you’ll go thirsty; my servants will rejoice, but you’ll be put to shame. My servants will sing in gladness of heart, but you’ll cry for help from anguish of heart, and you’ll howl from brokenness of spirit. You’ll leave your name to my chosen ones as a curse, and the Lord GOD will put you to death permanently. Then whoever takes an oath by the God of faithfulness, and whoever takes an oath in the land, will swear by the God of faithfulness, because the former troubles are forgotten and are hidden from my eyes.

A New Universe

Take notice! I’m about to create new heavens and a new earth; the former things won’t be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating, for I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy, and its people as a delight. I’ll rejoice over Jerusalem, and take delight in my people; no longer will the sound of weeping be heard in it, nor the cry of distress. “And there will no longer be in it a young boy who lives only a few days, or an old person who does not live out his days; days for one who dies at a hundred years will be thought a mere youth, and one who falls short of a hundred years will be considered accursed. People will build houses and live in them; They’ll plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They won’t build for others to inhabit; they won’t plant for others to eat—for like the life of a tree, so will the lifetime of my people be, and my chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands. They won’t toil in vain nor bear children doomed to misfortune, for they will be offspring blessed by the LORD, they and their descendants with them. Before they call, I will answer, while they are still speaking, I’ll hear. “The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; but as for the serpent—its food will be dust! They won’t harm or destroy on my entire holy mountain,” says the LORD

The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
